The South Riding RV Travels

29th-30th September 2012 - Joliet IL - Hollywood Casino

Chicago is not a very RV friendly city. We ended up staying at the Hollywood Casino at Joliet some 50 miles from the centre.
We are not betting people but they did have a superb restaurant where we started with cocktails. Mine was a Pink Panther.
I followed this with a goats cheese and heritage tomato starter.
The meals all looked attractive and tasted delicious. This was halibut.
Another main dish was these lamb chops. The meals were well proportioned and not as huge as we have had in some American restaurants.
Although there was music it was a very pleasant ambiance. We had a Californian albarino to complement the meal.
There were photos of film stars on the wall.
There were also dresses from particular movies. This was worn by Fay Wray in the movie King Kong.
The campsite had many large rigs. Here we have a diesel pusher being passed by a huge fifth wheeler with virtually the same livery.
Further up the site was this tag axle Prevost complete with a 'toy box'.
