21st September 2011 - London Heathrow to Seattle WA Planes

Crossing the pond is always the most expensive part of the journey. Hence we always try to fly at the cheapest times and in a single hop. It is very much cheaper to fly from England than it is from France.
A rare photo of Jan as we wait at Heathrow to board our 747. There were three spare seats but the flight would be smooth and trouble free.
Heathrow is the busiest airport in Europe and one of the busiest in the world. British Airways now use Terminal 5 exclusively for long haul and have got the initial teething problems sorted out.
The road system getting there is immensely busy. This is one of the major interchanges serving the airport.
There isn't usually much to see on the flight but we did catch a glimpse of the snow covered mountains as we flew over Greenland at 38000ft.
Big cities are very spread out but the centres are often quite compact. This is Seattle city centre.
We arrived after the RV storage place had closed for the evening so we stayed overnight at a Best Western hotel. This view of the patio and covered swimming pool was from our bedroom window. To be honest, all we wanted to do was sleep.
