The dolls' houses are made up of rooms lit either by external lighting or in many cases by
scale lights within the rooms. The furniture is all to a standard scale which I think is 1:25. Some of the furniture is exquisite. Curtains and carpets and wallpaper are also all true to scale. Each house must be worth thousands of dollars.
As the piece being photographed gets smaller, it becomes more difficult to avoid
reflections since these are all behind glass, and the flash easily wipes out the
picture. The detail is truly amazing. It is hard to believe that these pictures
are almost life-size.
