The last part of the tour taking us from Holtwood PA
back to base in Springville NY and then on to Lorain OH where the RV will be
stored this winter. This was a complication we could have done without but is
some strange insurance problem. They cannot cover us if we keep it in New York
state but can in Ohio. It adds a couple of hundred miles and complications since
our home flights are from Buffalo. Apparently we cannot fly from Cleveland to
Buffalo or JFK except via somewhere else. However we can fly from Heathrow to
Cleveland so that will be the route in next time.
Until the last week the weather has been good, but
now it is cold and fall is definitely here. We have done about 900 miles this
month in about half the days. It will be another few weeks before I finally put
all the statistics together on our costs. However we have spent less this time
equipping the RV but have bought more momentos to take home. And fuel has been
dearer especially in Canada. However we have been getting $2 to the pound so it
has probably been a good deal for us.
Current thoughts are for Alaska and the northwest
corner next year but returning home at the beginning of July. The shorter time
seems a good idea for us since we become travel weary and we have some other
interests in France which we wish to pursue. |
