We have rarely been less certain about where we are going next. We have only 8-9 weeks left and the route is to visit Florida and then return to Buffalo for the end of February.
Halfway is Key West. So the plan for January is to head for there. We have a
problem with the area around New Orleans since there seem to be no available
camp sites. But we will play it by ear and camp at the roadside if
necessary. The plan calls for eight days driving this month. So we have to
work out where we will pause along the way. At the moment we are not in a
hurry to leave Corpus Christi. If we go further north it will be too cold.
So we will have to see.... Planned mileage 1,700 miles.
We made it to Key West and managed to camp in New Orleans. The
Mississippi coast is a disaster zone and Florida is very expensive and
difficult to find sites in. We did a bit more than 1700 miles but not a huge
amount. I think we did about 2000 miles and we drove for more days but less
distance per day. |
