There is a road off to the east as the main road returns to the
camp entrance. This leads to Bryce Point and the aptly named Inspiration
Point. | |
| Here you have a whole
amphitheatre of points sticking up from the valley floor. The scale of this
is just breathtaking. |
Also from this area you can travel around the huge natural
amphitheatre that is encompassed by Sunrise and Sunset Points where the
views change with the shadows of the day.
| It becomes impossible
to find suitable descriptive words. This has to be just one of those places
in the world which you have to actually see to comprehend. |
Even this photo only shows about half of the depth of this cliff.
We could not get anywhere where the camera would show any more.
| We did move on to
just outside the park and almost opposite our campground, where we found
Fairyland Point. Here in the late afternoon we found a fantastic landscape complete
with areas known as the Grotto, and pinnacles known as the Dwarves. |
Walking out a little way along the trail to 'Tower Bridge' the
rock was a little smoother, but only on the top of a still precipitous cliff.
| And as the sun sets
in the west, the shadows rise up from the canyon floor. This must count as
one of the most spectacular natural wonders of the world. |
